Melanie Drewery lives on a farm at Ruby Bay near Nelson with her husband Jeremy and four girls. When she's not running around after their menagerie of horses, chickens, dogs, cats, sheep and pukeko she works as a potter, artist and writer. Tracy Duncan lives in a little old cottage by the sea, also in Nelson, along with her husband, Jonny, two children and a burgeoning collection of waifs and strays. Notoriously bad at saying "no", as in "Mum, can we keep it?", she believes there should always be room at the table for one more. As well as illustrations, Tracy also paints murals, designs logos and has recently had a sell-out exhibition of paintings.
