Gerald Legg holds a doctorate in zoology from Manchester University. He worked in Africa for several years as a lecturer and rainforest researcher. He has written many children's books. Carolyn Scrace is a graduate of Brighton College of Art. She specialises in design and illustration and has worked in animation, advertising and children's fiction and non-fiction.
